Dee King

Registered Sign Language Interpreter (RSLI)

Hi, I’m Dee, Director of Signthesis and Registered Sign Language Interpreter. I have been working with the Deaf Community since 2010 and I am passionate about my work.

I am versatile and able to adapt my approach to suit each individual I work with, drawing on a wide range of experience and strong interpersonal skills.

I am mindful of using inclusive language, empowering practices, and being an ally to those who experience disadvantages.

I am a reflective practitioner who is dedicated to continuous development. I actively seek out opportunities to enhance my knowledge and hone my interpreting skills.

I have many connections within the Deaf Community and associated Service Providers. I recognise the importance of wholistic customer care, and offer the added value of signposting my customers to other services they may benefit from.

“Dee is friendly, flexible and extremely professional. I have worked with many BSL Interpreters and it is a relationship which is based on trust and mutual respect. Dee and I work together to deliver creative online classes and she would now be my go to choice for future classes.”

“Dee is professional and prepared, friendly and polished. We have had consistently good feedback from Deaf attendees at our events and could not rate her more highly.”

Imogen Robertson, Medway Council

Rating: 5 out of 5.

“Dee comes highly recommended by a parent of a child with CHARGE syndrome, in the Sense Touchbase South East area. She has experience of interpreting in situations with children who have complex needs, as well as schools and colleges. This experience helps her during informal interpreting situations that require a friendly face to put the clients at ease. She copes well in these challenging communication interactions, made even more difficult by zoom! Dee has a great attitude towards learning and when she asks for feedback, thinks about things for herself and evidences by putting good advice into action.”

Melanie Brown, Registered Sign Language Interpreter

”My experience of Dee’s interpreting service has always been outstanding. She always ensures that I understand the information clearly when she interprets it to me. In addition, she is very good at meeting my communication needs, such as SSE, and the service she has provided to me has always been professional and full of integrity.”
